Description
Financial Aid for Advisors: Each Spring hundreds of FIU students are notified that they have lost their financial aid eligibility. Many don’t realize that this can happen until it’s too late. Advisors can guide students to make academic choices that help them to stay eligible for their financial aid. This workshop will address the relationship between academics and financial aid as retention issues and how advisors can help students maintain their aid. The session will provide advisors with important information about renewal criteria for common forms of financial aid (Pell, Bright Futures, etc.) and the advisors’ role in appeal processes.
