General FAQs

I have questions, comments and/or suggestions about the Panther Degree Audit (PDA). Who should I contact?

E-mail us with your questions, comments, or suggestions at psda@fiu.edu (Degree Audit Office).

Will all the students have a Panther Degree Audit?

No. The PDA provides degree audit functionality for the first time in FIU history to graduate and law students (with admission dates from Fall 2009 onward), and replaces the undergraduate degree audit tool known as SASS.

Non-degree seeking students, certificate students and students within the College of Medicine will not have a Panther Degree Audit.

When will this take place?

Degree Audits are available for Academic Advisors beginning in February of 2011 and fully available for Students to use in May of 2011.

I do not have access to run Panther Degree Audits. How can I obtain access?

Advisors, Program Directors and advising support staff have access to see reports. Please send us an e-mail to: psda@fiu.edu if you are an advisor or GPD and you are not able to run reports, make sure to include your name Panther ID.

To request Advisor or Graduate Program Director access, please go to Campus Solutions and then click on "Staff Access Request!"

I am getting an empty report. What should I do?
  1. Change the “Institution/Career” option in the top of the report (if any) to the student’s current career and click the ‘change’ button.
  2. Run an ADV report using the Academic Advisement Module. (Navigation: Academic Advisement – Student Advisement – Request Advisement Report)
  3. Graduate students admitted before fall 2009 do not have a Panther Degree Audit.
  4. Students admitted to certificates and non-degree seeking students do not have a Panther Degree Audit.
  5. f you try any of the above and you are still not able to see a Panther Degree Audit report send an e-mail to psda@fiu.edu.

My advisee’s plan in the Panther Degree Audit is wrong. What should I do?

First, verify the student’s current plan by clicking the ‘View Student’s Academics’ link in the top of the report. If the plan is correct and the Panther Degree Audit is displaying the wrong plan please contact us at psda@fiu.edu.

If a change of plan has been submitted and the change is not posted yet, please contact the Registrar’s Office. In the meantime, please run a What-If report for the new plan.

How do I change the Catalog year for my advisee in the Degree Audit?

You can change catalog years by running a What-If report. If you want to officially change your student’s catalog year please contact the Registrar’s Office.

Can I run What-if reports across careers?

No. Currently the What-If report does not allow running reports across careers. We are working to enhance this functionality in the future

I am trying to run an ADV, WH-If or PLAN report but it is giving me a ‘Highlighted fields are required’ or a ‘SQL’ error or no report is generated. What should I do?

We are working to fix this issue in the near future. In the meantime, exit the page and re-enter your request.
